Lead Pastor–Mark DeCourcey

Mark was born in Boston, MA (which explains his love for all New England sports teams–Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Patriots). His family moved to Stafford, VA when he was 8, which is the year he met his wife, Lisa (though he didn’t know her as such at that time!).  Lisa and Mark were high school sweethearts and got engaged after graduating from high school; they got married the week Mark graduated from Mary Washington College. The DeCourcey family moved from Culpeper to Ruckersville in March of 2008. Mark and Lisa have a son, Jake, and two daughters, Shannon and Julie.

Worship Leader–Cammie Shelatz

Born and raised in western Pennsylvania, Cammie came to know Christ as her Savior at a very young age. Her faith was nurtured in a family of 6 where laughter and love were the norm. At Grove City College, where she majored in Christian Ministries, she met the man she had been praying for all her life–someone “just like Jesus” with whom she could serve the Lord for the rest of their lives. It’s been quite an adventure! She and Jody have three children: Branden, Hannah, and Meghan. They are all thrilled that their journey brought them to Madison in June 2005. Being part of a church plant was always something that she and Jody wanted to do, so they count it a huge blessing to have been included on The Summit’s launch team.

Ministry Assistant–Debbie Utz

Debbie was born and raised in Culpeper County but has lived and thrived in Madison County for the last nine years.  She was blessed to be a part of the launch team for The Summit in 2008.  Having worked out of her home as a medical transcriptionist for 11 years, the Lord answered her prayers for a job in the ministry and she became the Ministry Assistant for The Summit.  Increasingly stretched and pruned, she is now leading life groups in her home with her husband, Jeff, as well as training and growing in her new role as Life Group coordinator for The Summit.  She has two daughters, Taylor and Rachel.  She has a passion for serving Christ and being a contagious Christian.
