I love a good tailgate party. It is a critical part of the football game experience. Think about it. You show up two hours early. You hang out with friends who are there for the same reason you are. You want the world to know that you are there because your team is playing and your team is going to win. You talk with like minded people. You have an idea what to expect because you have been here before, you have studied, you know minute details about the teams and you have huge expectations that your team is going to show up in a supernatural way.

We spend hours in this time of preparation because, when we do, we get so much more out of the game day experience. This is quite a ritual, but we gladly do it because the game is so important to us. Two hours early – no problem. Why then is it so hard to get to church on time?

Let’s try something new. Lets show up a few minutes early. Hang out with like-minded people. Prepare in advance for God to show up in a supernatural way. Lets be more excited about seeing Him in action than any team.
