We are created to bring glory to God. That is our ultimate purpose. We have the privilege of doing some really cool stuff that brings Him glory. We can pray, sing, study, worship, fellowship. But, you know what? We will be able to do all these better in Heaven.

Of all the ways to bring Him glory here on earth there is only one that we can do better here than heaven. That one way is to share the Gospel with lost people. You see, there are no lost people in heaven. Did I need to say that? Does it not stand to reason that this is why God has us here on earth? Is this the reason He hasn’t taken us home?

Acts 1:8 (NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

When you become a part of His family, you receive the power of the Holy Spirit. Rather than take you home to be with Him, God grants you all power and authority here on earth to advance His Kingdom. Jesus says you WILL be my witnesses. It seems safe to say that we are here to bring Him glory by being His witnesses (sharing the Gospel) in our home, our neighborhood, and around the world.

This is why we are here.
