***********************************************************

The Summit’s Costa Rica team last traveled to  Los Anonos, which is just outside the capital city of San Jose, in July 2011. The Summit team partners with an organization called Harvest Hands, which is located in Los Anonos. Harvest Hands provides a place to stay for mission teams as they minister to the surrounding community.  On the July 2011 trip, our team provided some eyeglass clinics, as well as worked with the  youth in the community.

The team also went to Nosara, which is on the west coast of Costa Rica, where they did some light construction, provided 2 eyeglass clinics, and taught the local women some crafting skills (needle felting), in the hope that they can turn this into a cottage industry. This was a first visit to Nosara for Summit teams, so we are hoping to establish a continuing relationship with the 2 churches we partnered with there (Esperanza and Nosara Evangelical).

Previous trips centered around encouraging the local churches and planting a new church, as well as relationship-building, VBS for children, light construction on an earthquake-damaged church, and prayer walks.
