Hebrews 3:12-13
“See to it brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
To me this is what Life Groups at The Summit are all about – encouraging one another through sharing our trials and victories with one another. Last night, The Power of the Praying Wife members had the pleasure of encouraging and lifting up the young ladies from our Youth Group. We have all enjoyed the study and have learned a lot about ourselves, our husbands and our Heavenly Father and wanted to encourage our young ladies through praying over them for their future husbands.
Marriage is the most important earthly relationship we will have. Think about it, the first relationship God created was husband and wife in Adam and Eve. Genesis 2:22-24: “Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” A healthy marriage, with God at the head, will most closely reflect the relationship that we will have with our Father in Heaven.
During our study we also looked at generational sin and the effect it has had on our husbands, ourselves and our children. Generational sin is hard to break because it has been ingrained in us from an early age – but, there is hope because we have a loving,
redeeming, healing God. He can break the mold of generational sins and heal any scars those sins have caused.
As brothers and sisters in Christ we should all strive to be encouragers and resources for one another. Generational sin doesn’t just affect our families but it affects God’s church. We all have made decisions that we wished we could go back and change. Of course, that is not possible but instead of ignoring our pasts, we can share them in hopes that others will learn from our mistakes.
Satan, the master manipulator, uses our sin to separate us from God. But God is a God who refuses to let go – He works on our hearts until we turn to Him for forgiveness and healing. How does He often work on us? Through others who are willing to share their
time, their failures, their triumphs – their lives.
How can you encourage someone today?

Thank you, Stephanie!!! What an amazing, God-ordained time last night!
If you happen to have the transcript of what you said in the opening, I would love to be able to read it again – it was AMAZING.
I hope you all will consider offering this type of evening again for moms and daughters. Shannon was working Tuesday night so we were unable to attend, but I’ve heard such great things about it! Thanks for caring about the young ladies in our community. What a gift you have given them and their future spouses!
